Join us at the Rathbun, on Thursday, April 18 from 6-7:30pm, to learn the basics of mending by hand, including how to patch holes, repair hems, sew buttons, dam socks, mend seams, & more at a guided workshop with sewing enthusiast Kathleen Casner. Materials and sewing kits provided. Bring your own items to repair. for ages 18+. Supplies are limited, please call the Rathbun (860-873-8210) to register.
The Friends of EHFPL and the Friends of the Rathbun Library are excited to sponsor another wonderful show presented by Tanglewood Marionettes of Ware Ma. If you attended last year’s presentation of the “Dragon King” performance you know what amazing work they do.
Hansel and Gretel is based on the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, and features melodies from the Humperdinck opera. The colorful set is in the shape of a giant story book; as the pages turn each new and exciting scene is revealed. All the staging, scenery, and marionettes are handcrafted by Tanglewood Marionettes and together represent over a year of construction time.
This performance is suitable for all ages and young and old alike will be charmed by this show. Tickets are available at the door and will be $5.00 each with a max of $20 for a family. Save the date and come join us for a magical afternoon!
The Solar Eclipse is coming are you ready? The East Haddam Libraries have a limited supply of eclipse glasses for safe viewing. Stop by either library to pick some up. Limited to two pairs per family.
