All donations promote the library system’s mission and cannot be used for any other purpose. Direct contributions, memorial contributions, bequests, grants, and corporate contributions all benefit this fund, which will be used for programs and services not budgeted by the Town. For example, a memorial garden was recently established using funds donated in a deceased Friend’s name.

The Friends will use donations to:

• Kick start innovative programs
• Provide seed money for fundraising projects
• Meet critical needs of the library system for which Town funds are not available

The Friends of East Haddam Free Public Library is a volunteer group that supports the Library in a variety of ways, such as fund-raising events or donating volunteer hours. Through their time and talents, the Friends help the Library expand its programs and services to our community of patrons and town residents.

Simply stop by the library and pick up a form!

The Friends of Rathbun is a volunteer group that supports the Library in a variety of ways, such as fund-raising events or donating volunteer hours in The Book Nook. The Book Nook is our used book sale room that the Friends maintain in the lower level of the Library, and each year these sales generate additional funds that help the Library.
