Stop in and see us for things to do, neighbors to meet, books to read or wifi that works – or just for a cool place where you can sit and relax. You’ll find lots of events on our calendar for kids of all ages and for adults. In addition to a summer reading program for kids, we have a bingo sheet reading challenge for adults with prizes sponsored by both Library Friends groups.
For kids 8 and older, there are three free cartoon workshops at the Rathbun Library on August 5, 7, and 8 from 11am to noon. They’ll be taught by Jason Deeble, an author, educator, and graphic illustrator who loves creating cartoons. You can come to all three or just come to one or two. Supplies will be provided. This is being funded in part by the Community Foundation of Middlesex County and Connecticut Humanities.
We also have some free special events sponsored by our Friends that will be held at the East Haddam Historical Society. Bubblemania is July 17th at 2pm, Mystic Aquarium Sharks on July 29th at 2pm, and Poop Museum on August 11th at 2pm.
